North Wales Transport Links
North Wales offers excellent transport links whether you need to travel by road, rail, air or ferry. Holyhead Port is one of the busiest ports in the UK and is located in Anglesey, just a few minutes away from the A55 dual carriageway. The port is one of the main commercial and passenger transport networks connecting Ireland to Northern England.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Manchester Airport are just a few hours drive to North Wales whilst smaller airports in Anglesey and Caernarfon are perfect for domestic flights. Additionally, Hawarden Airport is located in Flintshire, very close to the English border and specialises in private and commercial flights.
North Wales road network is extensive and allows for easy access to London and Birmingham via the A5. The North Wales Expressway, M56 and M53 connect North Wales to the North of England and cities such as Manchester and Liverpool are accessible within just a few hours. Locally, the A494 provides a fantastic road network for easy access to Wrexham, Queensferry and Deeside whilst the A55 connects to major towns including Bangor and Anglesey.
Travel by train is extremely efficient thanks to the North Wales Main Line network which links North Wales internally and further afield, to the likes of Liverpool, Warrington, Chester and Cheshire.
