Bolton Birch are Sponsoring Charlie Weaver in Support of Stick ‘n’ Step

23 March, 2021

Bolton Birch is excited to announce that they will be sponsoring Chester local Charlie Weaver as he runs the London Marathon this October 3rd.

20-year-old Charlie will be running to support Stick ‘n’ Step, a local charity that provides education and support to children with cerebral palsy.

Thanks to their team of education professionals, Stick ‘n’ Step provides free weekly conductive education sessions for children and young people with cerebral palsy. They are based at their specialist centres in Wallasey and Runcorn and actively work towards helping each child reach their personal potential in terms of mobility, confidence and independence.

The charity itself does not receive any funding from the government so they heavily rely on their team as well as donations from their supporters to continue their amazing work. Charlie’s decision to run the London Marathon and raise money for Stick ‘n’ Step will not only help provide children with the vital education they need, but allow their families access to a support system that makes sure no child is missing out on an opportunity to grow and develop, especially during lockdown.

All of the money raised by Charlie will help Stick ‘n’ Step to continue conducting their fantastic work both online and at their specialist centres. £15 is all it takes to provide one of Stick ‘n’ Steps’ Virtual Conductive Education Sessions (an online class that provides essential teaching and education for a Stick ‘n’ Step child isolating at home), and £50 provides the funds needed for a complete classroom session for up to 8 children.

Charlie is currently training hard in order to achieve his ambitions of reaching a personal best of under 3 hours which would place him in the top 5% of marathon runners and of course, make his fundraisers, and everyone at Stick ‘in’ Step, proud.

Good luck Charlie, Bolton Birch will be cheering you on in October.
